While installing Tacoma Iron Works DIY Gate kit, it is advised to seek the help of a professional electrician when needed. Some areas require a driveway gate permit for the installation of a driveway gate. Look into your local codes for direction on this before proceeding.
Utility Locate
When digging for the concrete footings a utility locate is required by law. This avoids the possible damage to electrical, natural gas lines, and other underground utilities. These services are typically free and can be done with a couple days’ notice. From our experience utilities are typically ran down the side of a driveway and are a potential safety hazard if not located. Do your due diligence and have a locate done before digging.
Kit includes the following:
-1” Threaded Rod Cages are set into the concrete footings and allow for adjustment when needed.
-Operators brackets are attached to the posts and gate leafs requiring no welding onsite.
-An optional 3” pipe can be added to steel posts when a lighted post is desired. Access hole for electrical will be added to the post as well.
-Standard clear opening of all gate kits is 16’.
-Powder coat finish, and mild steel construction is the typical build, but options for other materials and coatings are available upon request.
-Optional battery backup is available in the event of a power outage, and will allow the gate to cycle numerous times running off the batteries alone.
